Olga Poes, director is  an experienced Senior Math Tutor with two Master's Degree and PhD. ABD. from University of Illinois at Chicago. She has taught at the university level and tutored at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Moreover, Olga has a teacher certificate from HARVARD University "The Leaders of Learning". Olga's passion for teaching and tutoring has grown throughout the years. She is a life-long learner and combine her lessons with new ideas, best practices, and tried-and-true activities. She has been teaching and tutoring for over 10 years in a variety of settings and with a wide variety of students, so she has truly learned to differentiate her lessons to meet the needs of individual students. She enjoys teaching all types of Math and wants Math to be fun when she teaches it.

We offer private and small group ONLINE math tutoring for K-12th grade. Most of her students are attending the honors/gifted math classes. Additionally, we offer the test prep for the OLSAT, COGAT, IOWA, IREADY,  PARCC, PSAT, SAT, ACT and other tests. We are proficient in American common core math, Russian Math and Singapore math. 

 

We use a large number of manipulative or hands on devices to get the point across. We believe that math is not hard you just have to take everything one step at a time and be slow and steady. We try to make the learning process as enjoyable as possible by breaking it down into manageable pieces. Over a period of time this helps students retain the material better. We do our best to tailor the learning process based on the students learning temperament and establish a satisfying mutual relationship. We believe learning should be fun and effective. We like to build on the students' interests and what is already working for them to help them succeed in areas where they would like to improve.
