About
Online Math Classes
All of our classes are taught live on Zoom in small groups and meet once per week. Students are placed by their current math level, not by age or grade. Many of our students work one or even two grade levels ahead, so it is common for children of different ages to learn together if they are studying the same math concepts. This allows every student to be appropriately challenged and continue progressing at their own pace.
Our class schedule is listed in Eastern Time (ET). If you live outside the Eastern Time Zone, simply adjust the schedule as follows:
-
Central Time (CT): subtract 1 hour
-
Mountain Time (MT): subtract 2 hours
-
Pacific Time (PT): subtract 3 hours
-
Alaska Time (AKT): subtract 4 hours
-
Hawaii Time (HST): subtract 6 hours
Our 2026–2027 Accelerated Math classes are taught on Sundays. All times below are Eastern Time (ET) :
3:00 PM 5th/6th Grade Math
4:00 PM 7th Grade Math
5:00 PM 3rd/4th Grade Math
6:00 PM 8th Grade Math
7:00 PM Algebra 1
8:00 PM Geometry
Friday Enrichment Classes (Eastern Time)
In addition to our Sunday Accelerated Math program, we also offer two specialized Friday evening classes for motivated students.
6:30 PM – Middle School Math Competition & Olympiad Prep (Grades 6–8 Only)
This class prepares students for MOEMS (Grades 6–8) and AMC 8 through challenging, non-routine math problems that build logical reasoning, creativity, and advanced problem-solving skills. Competition math teaches students to think outside the box, recognize patterns, and approach unfamiliar problems with confidence. These skills benefit students far beyond competitions and help develop the analytical thinking needed for success in higher-level math, science, and engineering.
Eligibility: Open only to students in Grades 6–8. Elementary school students are not eligible, with no exceptions.
7:30 PM – PSAT 8/9 Math Preparation
The PSAT 8/9 is the official College Board exam for 8th and 9th graders and is an excellent introduction to future PSAT and SAT testing. This class reviews the math topics and problem-solving strategies tested on the exam while helping students strengthen algebra, geometry, and critical thinking skills.
Eligibility: This class is intended for students who are currently taking Algebra 1 or Geometry. Students in Pre-Algebra will likely find the material too challenging, while students already taking Algebra 2 or above will generally find it too easy.

Eligibility Criteria
Placement is based on nationally normed test percentiles:
-
One Grade Above: 90th–98th percentiles
-
Two Grades Above: 99th percentile
At this time, we are not enrolling new students whose national math percentile ranking is below the 90th percentile. Students below this level typically benefit more from private one-on-one instruction, which we do not currently offer. Our small group classes are designed for gifted math students who enjoy a fast-paced environment, love math challenges, and are ready to work above grade level.
Accepted tests: FAST, Iowa Test, aimswebPlus, MAP Growth, PSAT, i-Ready, or comparable nationally standardized achievement tests.
How to Enroll
Please email a copy of your child’s test results to poesschool@gmail.com. We’ll recommend the best level and confirm availability.
